Dario Gomez. DJ Dario Gomez is one of the most popular Cuban salsa DJ in Europe. He started to play and dance in the year 1984 and soon became one of the first and most requested organizer and promoter of Latin event in Italy. He can be defined as one of the founder of the Italian latin culture in all its forms and expressions. Back in the 80s, Dario’s popularity went over the Italian borders receaving invitations in other Eurpoean countries like Switzerland and frequently to Germany and the UK. He was also invited as guest DJ to salsa hot spots in the USA such as Miami, New York, Los Angeles and San Franciso. Dario does not only have a very broad music knowledge, actually the music has taken him to dig deeply into the roots of latin music especially the Cuban one: from the Cuban rumba to the reagetton to the mother of all the rythms “ the timba Cubana”. His repertory includes leading figures of the Cuban music such as Los Van Van, Manolito, Pupy, Willy Chirino, Charanga Habanera, Bamboleo, Manolin, Elio Reve, etc. Dario always explores new talents including Tirso Duarte, Maikel Blanco, Alexander Abreu and Habana d’ Primera. Last but not least, the new brake through in the reagetton Cubano, Gente de Zona. In brief, it is quite a challenge to not like his music! In Italy, where Cuban salsa has reached one of the highest levels in the world, Dario has kept up his name for more than 26 years, 7 days a week, bringing Cuban salsa and its culture always one step further.
