Laine Quesada Abreu was born in Santiago de Cuba in the city of Son.  At the age of 10 years she studied at the "Escuela de Arte" (School of Art School) in Santiago de Cuba. Then 3 years later she moved to the "Escuela Nacional de Arte (National School of Arts) in the Habana. To complete her education she attended the “Escuela Nacional de Arte de Instructores" (National School of Art and Instructors) graduating in 1993.

After returning to Son, she danced for 18 months at the "folklore and ballet company of the East" (one of the best dance companies in Latin America). Meanwhile she started as solo dancer at "la Maison", one of the most famous fashion houses of Cuba. 

Since late 1994, Laine lives in Bremen, Germany, as dancer, teacher and performer of Cuban dances.
