Martin has been working as a percussionist for over 25 years. He has learned a large variety of traditional rhythms in Africa and Cuba. He uses those rhythms and admits them in a subtle way into different styles of music. Except as a performing percussionist, Martin also works as a drum teacher and workshop leader. With great enthusiasm and didactic capabilities, he makes sure that all students of all levels make the most of what they have in store.
Martin has 25 years of experience teaching percussion for individual groups, in schools and conservatories. Martin teaches percussion at the School of Music in Arnhem, the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, and the conservatory in Amsterdam. Martin has produced a series of lesson cd’s where you can listen to rhythms from Cuba, Brazil and west-Africa. Martin has contributed on more than a 100 cd’s, all of which are very different from each other. |
